Chitosan Oligosaccharide on Strawberry Preservation – Test 1

Chitosan oligosaccharide (Chitosan Oligosaccharide) is composed of 2-10 glucosamine linked by β-1,4-glycosidic bonds, which has a different regulatory effect on plants than traditional biological pesticides and chemical pesticides, which can not only improve the stress resistance of plants (including disease resistance, cold resistance and drought resistance, etc.), but also promote the growth of crops and improve the quality of crops.
Chitosan oligosaccharides can improve storage quality, regulate postharvest physiological metabolism, inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and induce disease resistance in fruits and vegetables.

G-Teck Experts had carried out a series of test to check out:

Test 1: Effect on the weight loss rate of strawberries:

Agriculture Chitosan
Stawberry fertilizing

Postharvest strawberries lose water, quality and freshness due to the influence of transpiration, which seriously affects the storage quality of fruits. The experimental results showed that the water loss of the control group was faster during storage, especially in the middle and late stages of storage, the water loss rate was accelerated, the peel showed obvious shrinkage, and the mass fraction 1.5% and 2.0% chitosan oligosaccharide treatment showed a certain inhibitory effect on the water loss of strawberry fruit, among which the treatment effect of 1.5% chitosan oligosaccharide was the best. After four or five days of storage, the mass loss rate of fruits in the chitosan oligosaccharide treatment group with a mass fraction of 1.5% was 56.66% and 25.21% lower than that in the control group, respectively.
